The H-type layer cage rearing system stacks tiers vertically in a large laminated cabinet frame, so a house holds far more birds on the same footprint than an A-type battery. Manure leaves on a belt under each tier and is granulated, which keeps ammonia down and turns a disposal problem into a saleable by-product.
It is the standard choice for producers who need environmentally-protected egg production at scale.
